What is a license?

A license is a relatively simple method or means of entry into the international market where the grantor agrees with the licensee to be allowed to use a trademark, patent or other element for a certain amount and thus access to the international market”.

As a FAB graduation student, I have to make my project licensed. So that I can preserve some rights over my project.

What is Intellectual property?

Intellectual property (IP)is a property right which  can be protected under federal and state law, It includes  copyrightable works, ideas, discoveries, and inventions for a person.. IP relates to intangible property such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.

IP is protected in law by which it enables the inventor or the artist or concerned person  to earn recognition or financial benefit from what he made or invented. It is a beneficial thing to  the person who put his effort to make his idea in to a reality. It makes a balanced thing between inventors and the public. So  the IP system aims to boost  an environment system where more innovation and projects, Ideas will be getting created or made.

Creative Common license

A Creative Commons (CC) license is one of several  copyright licenses that enable the free distribution of an otherwise copyrighted work.

Creative common  license is  having the feature that   an author can give people the right to share, use, and build upon a work that created. This  provides flexibility to the creator. (The person  might choose to allow only non-commercial uses of his or her own work) and also can protects the people who use or redistribute an author's work from concerns of copyright.  The conditions should be specified in the license.

There are many types of cc licenses and  also differs from different combination what a person takes.

It can grant basic rights to the person who developed or created the thing.

This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms. This license is often compared to “copyleft” free and open source software licenses. All new works based on yours will carry the same license, so any derivatives will also allow commercial use. This is the license used by Wikipedia, and is recommended for materials that would benefit from incorporating content from Wikipedia and similarly licensed projects.

This license is the most restrictive of our six main licenses, only allowing others to download your works and share them with others as long as they credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or use them commercially.

I need to choose a license out of this.

I prefer My projects and all other things  in creative common license with the attributes  Non commercial and No derivatives.

Why I choosed Creative common license?

It is a totally free and it can protect my right as my project will not be commercially utilised. Also it includes the clause of Non derivative as well.

Dissemination and income:

Firstly the best thing is that I came up with an idea what I can do in the FAB academy. I made a concept and  developed at least a prototype or working model.

I can improve my prototype in future and also add some extra features on this project. Like communicating with some device and also solving the same or different puzzle like this. May be in future

I can market my product and as well as promote it using the social medias and other channels.

I can show case my project on Different exhibitions in my place also like the Maker faire like events .

After receiving the feedback I can make  a product and check the feasibility of launching in market and later producing in larger quantity to earn income from my idea which is made in to reality now.
